Robert “Bob” Cleve McCormick

Robert “Bob” Cleve McCormick, 75, Gas City, passed away at 7:15 a.m. on Friday, November 16, 2018, at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.  Born in Marion on June 2, 1943, Bob was a lifelong resident of Gas City and the son of Cleve and Mary Helen (Greene) McCormick.

Bob graduated from Mississinewa High School in 1961 and went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in computer science from Purdue University.  He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1961 and was honorably discharged in 1964.  On December 4, 1964, he married his loving wife, Linda D. Miller, and they had three children, Robert, Curt, and Stacey.  Following his military service, Bob worked at General Tire and Trelleborg Auto, where he was a computer analyst.  He retired in 2003.

Bob enjoyed studying the genealogy of his family.  He liked tending to his yard and also the yards of his family members.  He especially liked giving tractor rides to his great-grandchildren.  Bob was a loving, generous, and family-centered man, and he will be missed by all who were blessed to have him in their lives.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 54 years, Linda; children, Robert C. McCormick, Jr., Fairmount, Curt Orval (Angie Brooks) McCormick, Gas City, and Stacey (Troy) Brown, Gas City; grandchildren, Cortney Jo (Carlos) Santiago, Alanna Lin (Kyle Shafer) Brown, and Kye Robert (Ashley Zion) Brown; great-grandchildren, Amelia Jo Santiago, Anderson Troy Santiago, and Gracelin Mae Phillips; brother, Randall L. McCormick, Gas City; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and his dog, Max.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three great-grandchildren.

In accordance with the family’s wishes, they will have a private service to remember Bob and to celebrate his life.

Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
