Richard E. Treber

With deep sorrow, great sadness, and much love, the family of Richard E. Treber has unexpectedly lost their beloved Rick.   His Heavenly family and His Lord have welcomed him home with open arms and their eternal love on Monday, May 23, 2022.

Rick was born September 25, 1958, in Marion, Indiana the son of the late Richard and Sandra (Moorehead) Treber.    He was a true good person.  He never held a grudge, never had an unkind word to say about anyone, had empathy, and always hoped for the best.  Rick was a person of faith.

He was a true friend who would help you with your largest or smallest need.  He worked alongside his grandfather, Vaughn Treber in his gunsmith business, and his father, Dick Treber in his sheet metal business.  He gained much knowledge from the men who helped shape his life.  Rick’s passion for fishing began at a very young age, and it was something he always looked forward to.

He had an instinct inner knowledge of electronics from a very young age.  He was born with it.  He raised his family working at Treber TV and Electronics with this knowledge of television, radio, computers, and security systems installation.   Rick loved to cook what he raised in his garden and grill on the patio and enjoyed every minute of it.  He would plan his Easter and Christmas dinners with his girls, son-in-laws, and four grandchildren far in advance.  He would plan the menu, easter egg hunts, and watch Santa ride through Sweetser on the firetruck.  He married Karla Hullinger on March 25, 2006, and she survives.

In addition to his wife, Rick is survived by two sons, Jeff (Ashley) Sellers and Troy Sellers; two daughters, Ericka (Korey) Bougher and Cassie (Ryan) Robrahn; sisters, Deborah K. (John) Pattison, Mary B. (Steven) Fode and Stacy L. Treber; 7 grandchildren, Peyton McPeak, Karsyn Bougher, Kyla McPeak, Korbin Bougher, Ava Sellers, Elisa Sellers and Olivia Sellers; and his mother-in-law, Jan Hullinger.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 (Noon) to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.  Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 p.m.
