Richard Davis

Richard Davis, 89, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at The Heritage of Huntington, Huntington, IN.

Mr. Davis was born on January 20, 1929, in Huntington, IN, to Howard and Edna (Spanley) Davis.  His parents preceded him in death. His first marriage was to Nida Landrum on August 12, 1950.  She preceded him in death on May 10, 1983. His second marriage was to Helen Krumanaker on June 20, 1985.   She survives and resides in Huntington, IN.

Mr. Davis was a 1948 graduate of Huntington High School.  He served in the United States Marines.  He was a die maker for General Motors and retired after 32 years.  He was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 4th degree Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post #0241, Marine Amvets and Moose Lodge #837.

In addition to his wife, Helen, he is survived by two sons, Tracy (Lisa) Davis, Austin, TX, Terry (Rosa) Davis, Gas City, IN; one step-daughter, Cindy (Mark) Schabitzer; one sister, Carol Quickery, Roanoke, IN; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren.

Along with his parents and first wife he was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Davis, Jeffery Davis; and two brothers, Robert Davis and Leo Davis.

There will be no calling hours.

Recitation of the Rosary will be held prior to Mass on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at 9:15 a.m. at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry Street, Huntington, IN 46750.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry Street, Huntington, IN, with Fr. Tony Steinacker presiding.

Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN  46750.
