Phillip Dwain Henry

Phillip Dwain Henry, 87, of Brunswick, GA passed away at 11:10 am on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick. He was born in Tipton County, Indiana on August 22, 1935, to Orphus and Wilma (Rosier) Henry. He married his first wife, Carolyn Wendelman and later married his second wife, Jeannetta F. Lamb, and she preceded him in death on September 23, 2005.

Phil worked as a millwright for General Motors in Marion for 35-1/2 years before retiring. He was a skilled craftsman and especially enjoyed woodworking. In his younger years, Phil liked riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He also enjoyed camping. Phil will be remembered as a gentle and kind yet strong man who was generous to those in his life.

Survivors include his daughter, Cathy (Chip) Summitt of Jonesboro; son, Michael (Theresa) Henry of Waycross, GA; step daughter, Deeann E. (Late Roger) Sparks; step sons, Jeff Lamb, Andy (Bonnie) Lamb, Steven (Ginger) Lamb, and Monty (Marla) Lamb; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Barbara (Late Bob) Everling of OH; plus several nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Orphus Henry; mother, Wilma Henry; first wife, Carolyn Henry; second wife, Jeannetta F. Henry; step daughter, Anita Louise Adkins; sister, Diana Tharp; and brothers, Vernon E. Henry and Leon Henry.

The family will receive visitors from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN, 46933.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a Funeral Service to celebrate Phil’s life will begin at 12:30 pm. Entombment will take place at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Marion.
