Peggy Ann Rigney

Peggy Ann Rigney, 81, Marion, passed away at 6:11 am on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, in her home. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Thursday, January 14, 1943, to James Richard and Elizabeth Adaline (Colgan) Norman.  She was married to her loving husband, Arnold Rigney, for 60 years.

Peggy attended Van Buren High School and was a manager for 30 years with Dairy Queen. She often was recognized by strangers and individuals of all ages due to her time at Dairy Queen.  She was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA) – Chapter B2.

Peggy was loved and cherished by so many family members and close friends, and she loved each and every one of them just the same.  Aside from her family and friends, she absolutely loved her dogs and granddogs!  Game nights with friends and family was something she loved!  It wasn’t unusual for just her and her husband to be found playing a game of Aggravation when no one else was around.  Also, when she wasn’t playing games herself, you would find her in her chair watching Steve Harvey on Family Feud.  She actively attended her grandchildren’s various events and athletic events.  In the summer months, when she wasn’t riding on the back of her husband’s motorcycle, you would find her with her arms and legs stretched out, basking in the hot sun while sitting in her swing.

Survivors include her husband, Arnold Rigney; daughter, Suellen Emery; son, James D. (Debi) Rigney; grandchildren, Eric (Brad Milburn) Emery, Jr., Kayla Smith, Devin Aguilar, Ryne (Kilie) Emery, Gator (Jaycee) Emery, Nicole Shoulders, Heather Bagnall, and Gavin Rigney; great-granddaughter, Ivy Mae Emery; sister, Sue (Rex) Prather; brother-in-law, Dusty Guy; friends, Connie Lindsey, Dick Cloud, and Jim Gause; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jennifer Guy; and friend, Michael Lindsey.
