Paul Dean Bollhoefer

Paul Dean Bollhoefer, 90, Van Buren, passed away at 12:53 am on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Autumn Ridge Rehabilitation Centre in Wabash. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Saturday, July 9, 1932, to Herman and Dessie (Mathias) Bollhoefer. He married Betty Mills and she preceded him.  

Paul worked construction for Huskey’s Construction. He was a member of the American Legion Post 368 and he could always be found drinking his coffee there. Paul loved to travel, help out his family and neighbors, and piddle around town. He loved to drown out his daughter’s disco music by playing Mario Lanza. He also enjoyed his tractor and woodworking. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Survivors include his daughter, Denese Wilson of Wabash; son, Gregory (Lisa) Bollhoefer of Jonesboro; sister, Ruth Anne (Dane) Lawing of Marion; step-son, Paul Ritter of IL; step-daughter, Carolyn Carter of TN; grandsons, Jason (Tonya) Toy of Wabash, Aaron Bollhoefer of Weatherford, TX, Matthew (Kayla) Wilson of Wabash; granddaughters, Sierra (Josh) Stoffer of Marion, Elizabeth (Tyler) Gallaway of Marion; 10 great-grandchildren;1 great-great-grandchild; several cousins, nieces, and nephews; as well as, great friend, Bob Fincannon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Dessie Bollhoefer; wife, Betty Bollhoefer; mother of his children, Lucille Bollhoefer; sisters, Betty Edwards, Mary (Wilbur) Lines, Cora Staggs, Donna Carlson, Dorothy Chance, Estle Young; brothers, Herman Bollhoefer, Harold (Sybol) Bollhoefer; and step-sons, Mike Ritter, Kenny Ritter, and Jeff Ritter.

The family will receive visitors from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, March 27, 2023, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral and Cremation Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Paul’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral and Cremation Service, Storey Chapel. Pastor Mick Simpkins will be officiating with burial following at Riverside Cemetery.
