Patricia Ann Miller, 80, Swayzee, ascended into her heavenly home at 10:50 pm on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Colonial Oaks Health & Rehabilitation Center in Marion. She was born in Duluth, Minnesota, on Thursday, May 7, 1942, to Joseph and Betty (Mahnke) Shannon. On November 21, 1959, she married Kenneth Miller, and he preceded her in death.
Patricia was a cook at Swayzee Elementary School, retiring in 1995. She loved her family, loved cooking, and listening to country music. Her grandkids meant everything to her.
Survivors include her daughter, Cindy (Dr. Daniel) Lavengood of Augusta, GA; son, Jeffrey Miller of Sweetser; daughter, Shelly Jones of Marion; grandkids, Jason (Jessica) Lavengood, Danielle (Sean) Hughes, Dr. Samantha (Ben) Boucher, Dr. Matthew (Sarah) Lavengood, Madison (Eric) Edmondson, Austin (AniElise) Miller, Alexis (Johnathon Goode) Miller, Lindsay (Chris) Curless, and Tiffany Lassiter; 14 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Marlene Lane and Geraldine (James) Edwards.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, William Shannon and James P. Shannon; and two sisters, Peggy Kambesthad and Sharon (Robert) Johnson.
The family will receive visitors from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Rybolt Chapel, 314 N. Washington St., Swayzee, IN.
On Friday, December 30, 2022, a funeral service to celebrate Patricia’s life will begin at 11:00 am with an additional hour of visitation preceding the service. Burial will take place at Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery.
