Pamela “Pam” Sue Rhorer

Pamela “Pam” Sue Rhorer, 68, completed her journey on earth and entered Heaven at 7:54 p.m. on February 5, 2019.  She was a lifelong resident of Marion, and was born on April 28, 1950, to the late John and Dody (Lemon) Rhorer.

Pam received her B.S. in Nursing from Indiana University and began her career at Marion General Hospital, where she was a frequent donor to Lights of Love.  She continued her career at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne before retiring from Wesleyan Nursing Home in Marion.  She was actively involved with the Hostess House, where she ran the gift shop, served on the Board, was involved with the Flower Fund, and was a member of the Bridge Club.  She held additional memberships with Westminster Presbyterian Church, Tri Kappa Sorority, and Delphian Club.  The Marion-Grant County Humane Society also held a very special place in her heart, and she regularly donated substantial amounts to the organization.

Pam’s love for Euchre prompted her to organize a Euchre Club.  She always looked forward to playing cards with her friends.  Reading was another her passions, and very seldom did one find her without a book in her hand.  She also enjoyed cooking.  In her younger years, she spent her summers at Lake Tippecanoe and, into her adulthood, continued to love being on the water, especially vacationing on the beaches of Florida.

She will be missed by her godchildren, Laura (Jon) Brewer, Clearwater, FL, and Adam (Robb Weese) Miller, St. Petersburg, FL; great-goddaughter, Eleanor Brewer; and numerous close friends.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Pam’s funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday February 9, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.  Pastor Mick Simpkins will be officiating.  Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Marion-Grant County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1921, Marion, IN 46952 or Hostess House, 723 W. 4th St., Marion, IN 46952.
