Osie Marie Carrier, 85, of Cynthiana, Kentucky, passed away at 9:48 pm on Friday, October 15, 2021, at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Tuesday, August 4, 1936, to Luther and Laura (Adams) Hiles.
Osie grew up in the Roseburg Church of God, where her family attended. She was a waitress for many years and was a hard worker, great provider, and a homebody. She loved being with family and had a lot of friends with whom she was very close. She also loved to shop, listen to music, and play piano.
Survivors include her children, Dale (Pam) Jackson of Marion, Sheryl (Robert) Corman of Wilmore, KY, Laura Bartley of Bear Lake, MI, and her loving caretaker since 2012, Joan (Mark) Jackson of Cynthiana, KY; brother, John (Sue) Hiles of FL; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Debra Voland; two brothers, George Hiles and Phil Hiles; and three sisters, Margie Barker, Blanche Marley, and Ruth Belcher.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN 46933.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a graveside service to celebrate Osie’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Bill Fulda officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
