Opal Napier

Opal Napier, 88, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 10:22 am, Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at her home. She was born January 21, 1930 in Harlan, Kentucky to Frank and Cora (Napier) Branson.

Opal married Ronald “John” Napier in Harlan, Kentucky on August 16, 1947; he died May 8, 2001. She retired from United Tech/Dana in Andrews in 1995, after 12 years, and also worked at Kroger Egg in Wabash. She was a member of the Wabash Chapel Worship Center. Opal enjoyed watching television and especially loved her grandchildren.

She is survived by four children, Merita Carpenter of North Manchester, Indiana, Lisa Nelson of Wabash, Ronald Kenneth Napier of Silver Lake, Indiana, and Edward (Fran) Napier of North Manchester, 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, sister, Ann (Charles) Osborne of Wabash, and her brother, Harry Branson of Lawrenceburg, Indiana. She was also preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Elizabeth Lynn, grandson, Ronald Leon Napier, nine brothers, one sister.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Pastor Tim Prater, and Rev. Charles Osborne officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 2-7 pm Friday, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial is Parkview Hospice.
