Norma Ruth (Fisher) Biddle,

Norma Ruth (Fisher) Biddle, 89, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018 leaving her dearly loved family. Norma peacefully entered her eternal home to meet her Lord. She was born on August 20, 1928 in Peru, Indiana, the daughter of Harry and Pansy (Chaney) Brooks.

Norma graduated from Peru High School in 1946 after which she worked for Arnold’s Candies and Kresge’s Department Store before marrying Dennis P. Fisher. Upon her husband’s enlistment in the Army, Norma traveled to Wiesbaden, Germany as a civilian employee of the Army secretarial pool while Denny was stationed there. They had three sons and were married 17 years until Denny’s death in 1967.

On November 2, 1968 Norma married William R. Biddle in Peru and enjoyed a long and wonderful life together filled with many good times and many good friends. With Bill she enjoyed bowling in leagues and tournaments on the C&O bowling league, activities through their memberships with the local Moose Lodge and the Maennerchor Club, annual trips to Las Vegas and Laughlin, Nevada, trips to Bill’s Navy ship reunions at various locations across the country, and spending time with Bill on their boat on the Mississinewa Reservoir and Lake Manitou.

Norma’s interests included her church (First Christian Church of Peru) where she was a member most of her life, taking care of their home on Bunker Hill Pike that she and Bill had built, her Peru High 46er’s group that celebrated their 70th Class Reunion in 2016, dinner get-togethers with their C&O Retirees group, working part-time at Carolyn’s Dress Shop in earlier years and the Republican Party. In her later years she looked forward to her weekly trips to the Hairtique, and of course spending time with her family and friends.

Norma is survived by her husband Bill of 49 years, and two sons; Tim Fisher of Indianapolis, King Fisher and his wife Sally of Indianapolis; also grandchildren Jordan (wife Jenn) Fisher of Mount Vernon, Jessica Fisher of Fishers, Chase Fisher, Kendall Fisher and Zane Fisher all of Indianapolis. Also, great granddaughter June Fisher of Mount Vernon.

In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by son Mark Fisher, Dennis Fisher, and her brother Richard Brooks.

A celebration of life will be held from 11am to 1pm Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at the Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana, with her family and friends. This will be a time of conversation, fellowship and reflection.  Funeral service will follow at 1pm, with Pastor Jim Loft officiating.  Burial will follow at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru, Indiana.
