Mildred J. “Jean” Reiken, 93, of North Manchester, Indiana, died 9:52 pm, Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Miller’s Merry Manor East in Wabash. She was born on June 26, 1927, in North Manchester, Indiana, to William R. and Marian I. (Morse) Reiken.
Jean graduated from Chester High School, in North Manchester. She worked as a Customer Service Representative for Public Service Indiana, now Duke Energy, retiring in 1985. Jean was a member of the Congregational Christian Church in Servia. She enjoyed reading and knitting, collecting cookbooks, and was an excellent cook and baker.
She is survived by her longtime friends, Louella Krom of Roann, Indiana, and Von and Kerry Krom, Grace and Kale, all of Wabash, and her cousin Linda Hayes of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Dorothy Reiken, cousin, Fred Reiken, and longtime friends, Esther Wolfe and Vonell Krom.
Graveside services and burial will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, May 27, 2021, in Fairview Cemetery, Servia, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, 207 W. Main Street, North Manchester.
