Connie Jean Brookins, 86, of North Manchester, Indiana, died 11:38 pm, Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. She was born on April 23, 1935, in North Manchester, Indiana, to Harvey and Freda (Hill) Burch.
Connie was a 1953 graduate of Central High School in North Manchester. She married Donald “Pete” Brookins in North Manchester on November 21, 1954; he died March 10, 1990. Connie was a homemaker and a member of the North Manchester Tri-Kappa. She enjoyed her family and spending time with them.
She is survived by three children, Lynn Michel of Silver Lake, Indiana, Pamela Lochner of North Manchester, and Scott (Linda) Brookins of Richardson, Texas, three grandchildren, Carrie (Ryan) Hobbs of Hastings, Minnesota, Chelsey (Tom) Correll of Peru, Indiana, and Christopher (Sarah) Lochner of Wabash, five great-grandchildren, Sydney Click of Marion, Indiana, Kayla Hobbs of Elkhart, Indiana, Kendylan Lochner and Kellyn Lochner, both of Wabash, and Ainsley Correll of Peru, great-great-grandson, Soren Ault of Peru, and her brother, Roger (Nancy) Burch of West Palm Beach, Florida. She was also preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Amber Michel and great grandson Waylon Correll.
As per Connie’s request there will be no services. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, North Manchester.
Preferred memorial is American Heart Association.
