Michael Dewayne Poling

Michael Dewayne Poling, 69, Gas City, passed away at 11:09 am on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Wesleyan Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in Marion. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Friday, February 27, 1953, to Marvin and Betty (Leonard) Poling.   

Michael graduated from Mississinewa High School worked as a supervisor for Pierce Company until 2004.  Mike was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching the races.  Earlier in life, he greatly enjoyed riding motorcycles.  He had a good collection of movies and enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends.  He had a kind heart and was always willing to help out and even loan out his truck to friends in need.  

Survivors include his mother, Betty J. Ruth; sister, Debbie (Phillip) Rigsbee of Gas City; niece, Angela (Wayne Rubow) Wimsatt of Peru, IN; great-nephew, Landon Jarreau; great-niece, Haileigh Jarreau, as well as several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin G. Poling; niece, Janel (Gene) Flynn; and aunts, Shirley Clouse, Bernice Bowman, and Lillian Macfatridge.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main Street, Gas City, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Michael’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating.  Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
