Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12 p.m. Wednesday at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Brunk Conley officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Cemetery in Huntington County.

Merissa was born in Whitesburg, Kentucky, the daughter of Jesse A. and Leigh Renae (Miller) Lewis. She married Alexander J. Capes on July 4, 2015 in Gas City; he joined her in passing on March 23, 2018. Merissa enjoyed fishing, hiking, and spending time outdoors. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her parents, Jesse and Leigh Lewis, a son, Riley Lewis, a daughter, Lilly Lewis, sisters, Jessica (Trae) Lewis and Stephana Lewis, nieces Mya Lewis and Ariah Vogleman, nephews Bryce Kelsey and two unborn, uncles Wayne (Missy) Lewis, Jack Lewis, and Donald (Tara) Grace, all of Huntington; an aunt, Nancy (Brian) Adams of Hindman, a grandfather, Orville Lewis of Huntington, and a grandmother, Dora Renfrow of Louisville. Merissa is preceded in death by a grandmother, Juanita Lewis, a grandfather, Lige Miller, and an uncle, Sammy Lewis.
