Visitation will be from 2 – 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral services will immediately follow at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Alan Schoeff officiating. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery in Huntington County.

Alex was born on June 19, 1994 in Washington, Indiana, the son of Steven J. Capes and Bridget (Mullins) Jent. He married Merissa C. Lewis on July 4, 2015 in Gas City; she joined him in passing on March 23, 2018. Alex was a State Champion wrestler at Sheridan High School in Sheridan, Indiana. He worked at Wal-Mart and loved racing, mechanics, fishing, and football.
Survivors include his mother, Bridget E. (Donald) Jent of Huntington, his father Steven J. (Jeanne A.) Capes of Sheridan, children Lilly Lewis and Riley Lewis of Huntington, brothers Nicholas J. (Codi Jo) Capes, Josh Coy, Jackie (Jennie) Coy, all of Sheridan, and Donald J. Jent of Hazard, Kentucky, and sisters Jessica Ann (Dakota Eades) Eades-Capes of Kokomo, Torrie Greathouse of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Tylah Greathouse of Sheridan, Hannah Renee Jent of Hazard, Kentucky, Taylor “Tater” Jent of Lancaster, Kentucky, and Bre Coy of Sheridan. Also surviving are grandmothers Kathy Englert of Sheridan, Marilyn Street of Huntington, and Angie (Larry) Bailey of Lancaster, Kentucky, and great grandmothers Barbara A. Caldwell of Sheridan and Mary Fields of Lancaster, Kentucky, aunts Patricia A. West of Huntington and Crystal Michelle (Richard) King of Loveland, Colorado, an uncle, Keith A. (Julie) Mullins of Huntington, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. His grandfathers Larry Mullins and Gregory D. Capes precede him in death.
