Maxxwell Michael Marseilles

Maxxwell Michael Marseilles, 20, of Wabash, Indiana, born May 27, 2000 died tragically on February 6, 2021 after battling addiction for several years.

Maxx always enjoyed hunting and fishing and other outdoor activities. He loved his friends and being the life of the party. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. He loved animals, especially his dog, Maggie, and planned to volunteer his time at the local animal shelter. Maxx recently took an interest in tattoo artistry and found he had a talent for creating body art.

Maxx is survived by his parents, Chuck and Dawn (Hammond) Marseilles, Jr., of Bloomington, Illinois, his grandparents, Chuck Marseilles, Sr., of Bloomington, and Mike and Ina Hammond of Macomb, Illinois. He is also survived by many loving aunts and uncles, Jeaneé (Marseilles) and Chris DePierro of White River Junction, Vermont with Violet, Samuel and Silas; Jeri (Hammond) and Chad Welch of Macomb, with Sophia, Brooklyn and Caden; Kara Hammond of Macomb, with Peyton and Adyson; and Doug and Katie (Taylor) Hammond of Boulder, Colorado with Selah, and close family friends Rod and Marie Chockley, Goodfield, Illinois. Maxx was preceded in death by his biological mother, Debora (Magnuson) Schmidt, and grandmother, Ruth Ann Marseilles.

Visitation will be 4:30-6:00 pm, Thursday, February 11, 2021, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave, Wabash, Indiana for friends of the family. This will be immediately followed by a service at 6:00 pm for Maxx’s friends, old and new, and those who have been touched by his life and situation, even if your paths never completely crossed.

A second celebration of Maxx’s life will be Sunday, February 14, 2021 at 3pm at Journey Church, 1320 E College Ave, Normal, Illinois (Former College Avenue Baptist Church).

Burial in East Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Bloomington, Illinois.
