Mary Louise Drake-Reaves

Mary Louise Drake-Reaves, 72, Kokomo, passed away in Marion at 7:15 a.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2018.  She was born in Morgan City, Mississippi, on July 11, 1946, to the late Sam and Fannie (Morrell) Bush.  On September 10, 1996, she married Wilbert Reaves, and he survives.

Mary was the owner of Mary’s Southern Cooking, The Continental Lounge, and Players Boutique and previously worked at General Tire and Dana.  She was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.  In her younger years, she played softball but, throughout her life, she enjoyed fishing and cooking.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 22 years, Wilbert; children, John (Alechia) Drake, Jr., Marion, Johnnie Drake, Marion, Ronnie (Lisa) Drake, San Diego, California, Anthony Drake, Buffalo, New York, Tim Drake, Kokomo, Runako Reaves, Wisconsin, Shetra (Sherm) Turner, Houston, Texas, Janess (Billy) Strickland, Houston, Texas, and Kofi Reaves, Wisconsin; sister, Essie Harvey, Marion; brother, William (Mary) Curtis, Rolling Fork, Mississippi; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and cousins.

Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers, Eugene Bush and Dizzie Dean Bush.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1204 W. 14th St., Marion, IN.

Following the time of visitation, Mary’s funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with Rev. C.L. Adams officiating.  Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
