Mary Jane Thompson

Mary Jane Thompson, age 89, of Huntington, died at 3:35 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2018 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Huntington.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2018 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12 p.m. Friday at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Gary Dilley officiating. Burial will be in Riga Cemetery in Riga, Michigan at a later date.

Preferred memorials are to Riley Hospital for Children or College Park United Brethren Church, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana, 46750.

Mary Jane was born in Adrian, Michigan, the daughter of James and Vinna (Stout) Miller. She graduated from Blissfield High School in 1945 and married John N. Thompson on November 4, 1950 in Blissfield, Michigan. Mary Jane was a homemaker and attended College Park United Brethren Church in Huntington. She taught church youth in Michigan and Arizona and enjoyed singing in the choir and playing piano.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, John N. Thompson, a daughter, Jan (Jay) Ballard, sons James E. (Margaret) Thompson, David J. (Rose) Thompson, Richard D. (Elizabeth) Thompson, and Michael N. (Mary) Thompson, 14 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. Her parents, brothers Verl Miller, Dwight Miller, and Dean Miller, and a grandson precede her in death.
