Mary Alice Laymon

Mary Alice Laymon, 80, of Montpelier, IN, formerly of Warren, IN, passed away at 8:21 PM on Sunday, December 02, 2018 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, IN.  She was born on Tuesday, July 12, 1938, in Huntington County, IN.  She married Thomas L.  Laymon on Sunday, June 15, 1958 in Warren, IN. Mary Alice was a 1956 graduate of Warren High School. She received her Master’s degree from Ball State University. Formerly a member of the Church of Christ in Warren, IN, she was a current member of the Church of Christ in Montpelier where she had been the pianist and also a vacation Bible school teacher. She had taught at Roll School, Southern Wells, Montpelier High School, Blackford High School, was food service manager at the Blackford County Hospital, and also worked at Caylor Nickel Clinic. Mary Alice was a member of the I.S.T.A., Tri Kappa, DAR, Eastern Star, Montpelier City Council, Cub Scout den mother, on the Montpelier Harrison Twp. Library Board, Blackford Co. Mental Health Board, Millard Brown American Legion Post Aux., Montpelier Historical Society, was a sponsor at Southern Wells School  future Homemakers of America, and was a Laymon Publishing Corp. officer.

 

She will be sadly missed by her Husband – Thomas L. Laymon, Montpelier, IN, Son – Brian (Peggie Love) Laymon, Dunkirk, IN, Daughter – Cheryl (Daryll) Bultemeier, Fort Wayne, IN, Granddaughter – Kaitlyn Bultemeier, Granddaughter – Amanda Bultemeier, and Sister-in-law – Mary Kay Dunwoody, Peru, IN.

She was preceded in death by her Father – Carl Dunwoody, Mother – Lucile (Morrison) Dunwoody, and Brother – Thomas Dunwoody.

 

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Thursday, December 06, 2018 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour prior to service onFriday, December 07, 2018.

A service to celebrate her life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home  at 10:30 AM on Friday, December 07, 2018 with Gerald Moreland  officiating.  Interment will follow in the Thompson Home Cemetery in Warren.
