Marsha Kay May, 74, Greentown, passed away at 1:39 pm on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Marion General Hospital. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida, on Sunday, January 5, 1947, to Herbert Polk and Ruby (Bethea) Simmons.

Kay graduated from high school in Paxon, Florida. On August 6, 1966, she married Donnie F. May. She was dedicated 100% to her husband and was his protector. They shared 55 years together before he passed away just hours after her death. She loved the Lord and her church. She was a wonderful cook who loved sharing her cooking with others. She was proud to say that she made the best sweet tea!

Survivors include her son, Bien T. (Dee) May of Navarre, FL; daughter, Doni D. May of FL; grandchildren, Phillip, Cassie (David), Callie, Cadie, Joshua (Emilee), and Zachary (Olivia); seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Ann (Byron) Walker of Callahan, FL, and Patsy (Randy) Meeks of Orange Park, FL.

She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert S. (Mary) Polk; mother, Ruby Simmons; brothers, Cecil Polk and Oliver Polk; sister, Violet Hunter; and great-grandson, Jacob Stotts.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a combined service to celebrate the lives of both Kay and Donnie will begin at 1:00 pm. Pastor Eric Hall will be officiating with burial taking place at Grant Memorial Park.
