Mark Stuart Willis, 65, of Van Buren, passed away at 10:15 am on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Marion on January 27, 1956, to Olin and Dorothy (Gray) Willis. On July 14, 1979, he married Vera A. Coffelt, and she survives.
Mark graduated from Eastbrook High School in 1974. He served in the United States Air Force from 1974 to 1977 and achieved the rank of SrA. Following his honorable discharge from the military, Mark worked as a cable operator for 44 years with Prysmian Cables (General Cable) in Marion. He was a hard worker at his job and was always focused on providing for those in his life. Mark was a member of Central Christian Church.
Mark enjoyed camping and fishing. He collected all kinds of movies and especially liked watching science fiction movies and shows. He found joy in his family and loved watching his family grow.
In addition to his loving wife, Vera A. Willis, Mark is survived by his daughter, Tia (Andrew) Spears of Van Buren; son, Mark Travis Willis of Alexandria; grandsons, Bryce, Max, Ethan, Hunter, and Seth; granddaughters, Raegan and Emily; brother, Kevin (Shelly) Willis of Wabash; sister, Julia (Ron) White of Upland; several nieces, nephews, and friends; and his dog, Chip.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Eric Willis.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a funeral service to celebrate Mark’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will take place at Van Buren Cemetery.
