Mark Anthony Stevenson, 55, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on March 9, 1968, to Richard E. Fouce and Barbara J. Stevenson.
Mark was a kind and loving person who liked to cook, make ice cream sundaes, and spend time with his family and friends. He was funny, a loyal friend, and he loved his family. One of his biggest honors is that he served in the United States Navy on the USS Saribachi and USS LaSalle Battleships. Mark loved to watch ESPN, as well as old movies and television shows. He was a beloved son, nephew, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend.
Mark passed away peacefully and was surrounded by his family. He leaves to cherish his memory his father, Richard E. Fouce; mother, Barbara J. Stevenson-Spurgeon (James); sister, Dr. Stacey Y. S. Hunt (David I); brother, Dr. Ian D. Henry (Kirstin); step-brothers, William R. Henry (Allegra), Charles E.H. Faulkner, Kevin Spurgeon (Janice), and Chad Spurgeon; step-sister, Jacqueline Goodwin (Kyle); sons, Marc A. Stevenson, Shane Stevenson, and Colin Stevenson; paternal grandmother, Sarah E. Fouce; and best friend, Scott Brewer.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Ann Henry; maternal grandparents, Douglas and Buris Stevenson; and paternal grandfather, Charles E. Greer.
The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 10:45 am on Friday, July 14, 2023, at Grace Missionary Baptist Church, 2409 S. Nebraska St., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a funeral service to celebrate Mark’s life will begin at 10:45 am with Rev. Stanford Bolden officiating. Burial will take place at Marion National Cemetery.
