Marion O. Burdette


Marion O. Burdette, age 90 of Ashdown, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on June 7, 2022.  He was born September 7, 1931, in Owensboro, Kentucky, to Robert and Golda (Hoheimer) Burdette. 

Marion was an Army Veteran and proudly served in the Korean War.  He retired from Fisher Body, a GM Plant in Marion, Indiana where he worked for thirty-two years.  An avid hunter and fisherman, he spent his retirement years in Arkansas where he was a long-time member and volunteer at Millwood Baptist Church.  He loved nature and spending time on Millwood Lake.

Loving survivors include his wife, Mary Alice Burdette of Ashdown, Arkansas; daughters, Debbie (Rick) Galloway of Chesterton, and Darla Kelsay of Little Rock, Arkansas; son, Michael (Rita) Burdette of Ft. Wayne; seven grandchildren, Krista (Mike) Crowley and Kody (Andrea) Galloway of Chesterton, Kyle (Jessica) Galloway of South Jordan, Utah, Hubbell (Amy) Kelsay and Jared Kelsay of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Tyler (Cassandra) Burdette and  Zachary Burdette of Ft. Wayne; six great-grandchildren; as well as siblings, Martin (Janet) Burdette of Plant City, Florida, Earlene Lester of Gas City, Mervyl (Donna) Burdette of Gas City, Junior (Mary Jane) Moore of Marion and Carol Moore of Fairmount.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Bubby Burdette and Evelyn Bailey; his wife of 50 years, Rosalillee Wilson Burdette, and their infant son, Marion O. Burdette.

Visitation will take place from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.  Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Tom Mansbarger officiating.   Burial will follow funeral services in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
