Margaret Wallace

Margaret Wallace, 63, of Peru, passed away peacefully at her home to be with the lord on Wednesday, June 20, 2018.

She was born in Corpus Christi, TX in August 1954. The daughter of Willie Bob and Margaret Ernestine Haire. She was a graduate of Miller High School and served in the United States Air Force before retiring in 2012. She is married to Tom Wallace and is also a devout Christian and a longtime member of Bachelor Creek Church of Christ in Wabash.

Margaret enjoyed many things including missionary work, traveling, site seeing, gardening, crafts, volunteering for a variety of causes, singing in nursing homes, photography and spending time with friends and her church groups. Her most cherished memories are those spent with her children, grandchildren and best friends.

Surviving are her husband; Tom Wallace, her son; Scot Wakefield, (IN), her two daughters; Michelle Wakefield, (IN) and Sharon Wakefield, (IN), 8 Grandchildren; Kyle Wakefield, Braden Cole, Steven Baker, Bennie Baker, Riley Baker, Kearstyn Baker, Brooklyn Wakefield, Michael Hopper, 2 Great Grandchildren; Matthew and Mai and her two brothers; Robert (Cheryl Haire, (TX) and Charlie (Elisabeth) Haire, (TX).

Margaret was a loving mother, wife, friend and will be deeply loved and missed.

The family will greet friends from 5-7:00 pm on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Riverview Funeral Home, 421 W. Canal St. in Peru. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, June 25, 2018 at Bachelor Creek Church of Christ, 2147 IN-15, Wabash, IN. 46992 with Solomon David officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Peru. Miami County Honor Guard and Flag Detail from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base will present Military Services at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can me made to the American Cancer Society through Riverview Funeral Home.
