John B. Cass, age 69, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday June 19, 2018, at 11;15 am at his home surrounded by his family. He served in the US Army in Vietnam, and worked at Allied Systems, Inc for 16 years. He was a member of Seminary United Methodist Church, a Legionnaire and member of Roanoke American Legion Post #160, Huntington 40 & 8, VFW Post #2689, & Teamsters Union #414 where he served as a Steward. He enjoyed golfing, participating in car shows, woodworking and gardening, but most of all he loved being a devoted Husband, Dad and Grandpa.
John was born July 23, 1948, in Terre Haute, the son of John & Wanita (Wilson) Cass. On April 16, 1999 he married his beloved wife Carla Stine in Roanoke and she survives. Also surviving are children John J. Cass, Marcie (Brendan) Herring, Evan Klopfenstein, and Jessica (Matt Herndon) Klopfenstein, grandchildren Jesalyn, Loghan and Izabel, a sister Joanna Cass, a sister-in-law Sharon Cass, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers Paul Cass and Tom Cass.
A private Veteran service will be held at a later date.
