Lorna E. Payne, 80, of Peru passed away a 8:15am on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on February 7, 1938 in Miami County to Paul and Eloise (Sprinkle) LeMaster. She married Ray A. Payne on June 5, 1955. They were married for 55 years. He preceded her in death on August 9, 2009. A 1955 graduate of Clay Township High School, Lorna retired from Dana Corp. in 2005. She was also a homemaker and a member of the Erie United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her sons Randy Payne (wife Marcia), Gary Payne (wife Sherry), and Gene Payne (wife Diana), all of Peru. Also, grandchildren Jeremie Payne, Mara Swift, Ryan Wagoner (fiancé Katherine Kramer), Eric Wagoner (wife Natalie), Ericka Gross, Stephanie Marsh (husband Patrick), John Lorenz (wife Lykia), Alicia Kubly, and Kayla Thrush (husband Michael); and great-grandchildren Jazmine, Connor, Kenton, Liam, Maverick, Trey, Clara, Savannah, Brayden, Brody, Hadley, Laylah, Wyatt, and Hayley. Also surviving are brothers Ronald LeMaster (wife Norma) and Douglas LeMaster (wife Patsy), as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, a grandson Michael, and a great-granddaughter Edie.
A graveside service will be held at 4pm on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Clymers Cemetery in Miami County, with Pastor Phil Cruea officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Miami County Helping Hands.
