Linda K. (Hueston) Bricker

Linda K. (Hueston) Bricker, 69, Marion, was surrounded by her family when she died in her home at 12:58 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018.  She was born in Marion on July 8, 1949, to Earl and Kathryn (Purtee) Hueston.  On March 25, 1967, she married Carl H. Bricker.

Linda was a 1967 graduate of Eastbrook High School (Van Buren campus).  She received her Licensed Practical Nursing training at Kokomo School of Practical Nursing, her associate’s degree in nursing from Purdue University (Fort Wayne), and her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University in 1995.  She was in the first class of RN to BSN students.

She worked 27 years at Marion General Hospital, with the last 18 years in the Family Birthing Center.  Linda was a member of the Indiana Nursing Association and held a certification from the National Credentialing Center, in Inpatient Obstetrical Nursing.  Before her retirement, she was an instructor for Neonatal Resuscitation.  Her love was for her four granddaughters, three great-granddaughters, and one great-grandson.  She enjoyed various crafts, including counted cross stitch, crocheting, and scrapbooking.  She also enjoyed many trips and excursions with her long-time friend, Alice Stamps.  She was a member of the Timeless Treasures Red Hat Group, and she attended Southside Wesleyan Church in Gas City, where she was a Sunday School teacher and actively involved in others areas.

Surviving are her son, John Bricker, Marion; daughter, Marna (Larry) Frantz, Bluffton; grandchildren, Jessica (Bobby) Young, Marion, Katlyn (Gary) Hyland, Converse, Amy Bricker, Marion, and Jonnie Bricker, Marion; great-grandchildren, Alexiana Cox, Leila Young, Sofia Young, and Blaze Young, all from Marion; several nieces and nephews; and best friend, Alice Stamps, Swayzee.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Allen Hueston, and her great-niece, Kathryn D. Hueston.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Linda’s funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.  Pastor Brent Miller will be officiating with burial following at Howe Cemetery (Puckett) in Marion.
