Leroy (Roy) F. Scott passed peacefully on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at the Marion V.A. Leroy was a Grant County resident all of his 86 years. He retired from American National Can (Foster Forbes) after 40 years, in 1992. Leroy was a “Jack of all trades” and had many second jobs during his life.

Leroy proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed listening to the older country music, watching musicals of yesteryear, working puzzles, tinkering in his shop, anything Audrey Hepburn, pineapple upside down cake, and pecan pie.

Leroy leaves to miss him: Daughter Lynn (James) Hunt, grandsons Joel and Brock Ehmer, great grandchildren Austin, KayLynne, and Breanna Ehmer; son Larry (Lea) Scott, granddaughter Jessi; daughter Laura Berry, granddaughter Michelle Harris, great grandchildren Michael Berry and Dannyelle Vanderpool; and son Donald Scott. Also surviving are a brother, Marvin (Rebecca) Berry, sisters-in-law Evelyn Scott, Beverly Scott, and Katherine Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mary Berry, sister and brother-in-law Virginia (James) O’Brien, brothers Charles, Ralph, and James Scott, sister and brother-in-law Fredas (Dario) Salazar, and sister-in-law Jennie Kimmell. His trusted companion, Teddy, recently passed.

Leroy’s wishes were for no funeral service. Leroy will be cremated and placed at Marion National Cemetery. The family will have a private memorial service at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 S. Western Ave., Marion, Indiana.
