LeRoy Eugene Landis, 92, of North Manchester, Indiana, died at 3:15 pm, Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester. He was born on February 4, 1931, in South Bend, Indiana, to Lynn and Rhea (Rager) Landis.
LeRoy was a 1949 graduate of Gilead High School, and was a US Army veteran. He married Rose Ebbinghouse in North Manchester on June 28, 1986. He worked at a dairy farm in Withee, Wisconsin for 10 years and also at Tower Automotive in Auburn. LeRoy was a member of the Laketon American Legion. He enjoyed bowling, and bowled a perfect game in 1986.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Anna Landis of North Manchester; three children, Peggy (Richard) Land of Hamilton, Indiana, Danny (RaeAnn) Landis of Goshen, Indiana, and Brian Landis of Austin, Texas; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Helen Barva of Huntertown, Indiana, and brother-in-law, Danny Ebbinghouse of South Whitley, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Linda Landis; son Terry Landis; sisters, Laureta Moore and Loreen Hoover; and his brother, Lloyd Landis.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, 207 W. Main St., North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Laketon Cemetery, Laketon, Indiana. Friends may call 12:30-2:00 pm Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Laketon American Legion.
