Leomia Clariett, 78, Marion, entered eternal life at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 16, 2018. She was born on April 21, 1940, in Osceola, AR, to the late Garland and Lillian (Van) Richards.
At an early age, Leomia confessed her life to Christ and was one of the last mothers at New New Bethany Church of God in Christ in Marion. Her favorite church song was “Precious Lord, Take My Hand”, and she was “known” for her delicious cooking. Leomia was the rock of the family and will be highly missed.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Gloria McCreary, Marion, Tim (Sharon) Clariett, Fort Wayne, Faye (Timmy) Gore, MS, Jamie (Shannon) Clariett, Marion, Shawntay Richardson, Marion, and Brian Clariett, Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Juanita Wilson, Fort Wayne, Delois (Thomas) Gatson, Fort Wayne, and Sandre Kay Richards, Fort Wayne; brothers, Johnny Ray (Shirleen) Richardson, Grand Rapids, MI, and Earl Richards, Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Robert Lee (Brook) McCreary, Angenique (Marcus) Hill, Sarah (Justin) Reynolds, Sharhonda (Dontay) Sanders, Britney McCreary, Whitney McCreary, Jalen Clariett, Justin Clariett, Dee (Vince) Johnson, Asia Clariett, Breanna Clariett, Jazlyn Clariett, and James Dixon; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Brad Clariett; sons, Ricky Clariett and Larry Scott; and brothers, Garland (Pearl) Richards Jr., and Fosteen (Bernice) Richards.
Friends and family may call from 12 noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2018, at Integrity Funeral Care, 2901 S. Washington St., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, Leomia’s funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Stanford Bolden officiating. Burial will follow at Estates of Serenity.
