Larry Lee Fathauer, 82, of Carmel, formerly of Peru, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023.
He was born to Irvin and Nola (Sides) Fathauer in Decatur, Illinois on January 12, 1941. Larry married Jeanette Warthen on June 5, 1965 and she survives.
Larry was a proud United States Air Force veteran. He dedicated 26 years of his life to the military where he worked as an air craft electrician. Later in life, Larry volunteered as a rigger for the Peru Circus. He also enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and handing out resident packages at his assisted living facility. Larry didn’t know a stranger, he loved everyone.
In addition to his wife, Jeanette, Larry is survived by his children; Laura (Jeff) Rush of Peru, Tina Grenier of Jeffersonville, Connie (Greg) Jones of Kokomo, Dale (Michelle) Fathauer of Westfield, Christian (Lisa) Fathauer of Sioux City, Iowa, son-in-law, Don Andrews of Kokomo, 18 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 6 step-great grandchildren, brother, Ricky Fathauer of Decatur, Illinois, and sister, Bonnie Phelps of Mt. Zion, Illinois.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Donna Andrews, son-in-law, Michael Grenier, and brothers; Clifton Fathauer, Robert Fathauer, Lynn Fathauer, and sisters; Joyce Fathauer, Janet Camden, Eleanor Bailey, and Judy Fathauer.
Visitation will be held from 11am to 1pm on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru. The funeral service will follow at 1pm with Rich Tucker officiating. Internment will take place at Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery in Logansport, Indiana.
Military Rites will be provided by the Miami County Military Rites Team.
