Larry J. Bolden, Sr.

Larry J. Bolden, Sr., 84, of Greentown, left us at 4:30 pm on Sunday, April 18, 2021, to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born in Marion on Tuesday, April 6, 1937, to Rollie and Inez (Lacey) Bolden. He was an Air Force veteran and was honorably discharged.

Larry loved cars–working on them and racing–and enjoyed building and working with his hands. He loved the outdoors and fishing. He was also a big sports fan and especially followed the Green Bay Packers, Colts, Pacers, IU, and Notre Dame! He loved watching them all.

His biggest passion, though, was serving God and caring for others! His church and congregation at Holiness House of Prayer brought him great joy. He retired in 2012 after 40 years of service. He was always available day or night to visit the hospital, a nursing home, or whenever anyone was in need. He truly was a man of God! Larry will be sadly missed by his family, friends, and all the lives he touched while on this earth. He was a devoted family man and cherished all the good times he shared with them. He is now flying with the angels!

Survivors include his wife and soulmate whom he loved dearly for 62 years, Naomi Mae Bolden of Gas City; children, Kimberly (Dave) Hildreth, of Muncie, Larry (Jane) Bolden, Jr., of Yoder, Timothy (Tina) Bolden of Gas City, and Alice (Bill) Chandler of Marion; grandchildren, Christina (Nathan) Stuttle of Marion, Andrea Short of Brazil, Matthew (Kala) Short of Fort Wayne, Isaac Bolden of Gas City, Samuel Bolden of Gas City, Faith Bolden of Gas City, and Joleen Bolden of Gas City; great-grandchildren, Evie Stuttle of Marion, Caitlin Stuttle of Marion, Benjamin Stuttle of Marion, Asher Short of Fort Wayne, and Zoe Short of Fort Wayne; and brother, Jack (Barb) Bolden.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Rollie Bolden, Jr., and Rex Bolden; and sister, Vie Evans.

The family will receive visitors from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, April 26, 2021, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
