Lansing (Lance) Delano Buckley, Sr.

Lansing (Lance) Delano Buckley, Sr. 75, of rural Wabash, Indiana entered eternal rest on Friday, September 2, 2022 at his home. He was born on January 2, 1947 to Lansing and Jessie (Fife) Buckley, in Pikeville, Kentucky. Lance entered the Marine Corps on August 3, 1964 and spent four years defending our country during the Vietnam War. He returned home on August 2, 1968 a decorated Corporal having received numerous accommodations including a Purple Heart.

Lance spent 27 years working for Ford Meter Box, in Wabash. He is a member of the American Legion Post 15, American Huey 369, Purple Heart Association, and is also a dedicated member of Emmanuel Free Will Baptist Church of Wabash, Indiana. In his free-time he enjoyed antiquing, collecting of all the things, spending time with his family, and spoiling his cherished YorkiePoo, Bella. Lance was an honorable man, who spent his life working hard, loving his family fiercely, and giving to his church.

Lance was predeceased by his parents, Lansing and Jessie (Fife) Buckley, two brothers, Gary & Dwight Buckley, as well as his treasured son-in-law, Richard B. Martin, Jr.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 45 years, Brenda (Burkhart) Buckley, and their 4 children. Lansing D. Buckley, Jr. of Owingsville, Kentucky, Brian D. Buckley, of North Manchester, Indiana, Eric L. Buckley (Kelsie Buckley) of Imperial, Nebraska, and Latesha L. Martin, of Newburgh, Indiana. Lance was an affectionate grandfather, “Poppy” to all of his surviving grandchildren, Lansing III (Wendy LaShae Buckley), Lacey, Derek, Zach, Stephen, Dakota (Tiffany Mead Buckley), Isaac, and Peyten Buckley, and Raynah Tyler. He also had the opportunity to dote on his thriving great grandchildren, Isaac Martin and Synthia Buckley.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Emmanuel Free Will Baptist Church, 129 Southwood Drive, Wabash, with Rev. Terry Hinds officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 4-7 pm Wednesday, at the church. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.

In lieu of flowers, Lance has requested that donations be made to the Emmanuel Free Will Baptist Church, Building Fund.
