Landon Gene Seekins

Landon Gene Seekins, 23, Jonesboro, passed away in his home at 7:33 a.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2018.  He was born in Marion on October 1, 1994, to Doyle Arden Seekins and Kristi Nicole (Berryhill) Fugate.  On January 1, 2016, Landon married Jessica Mickel, and she survives.

Landon was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. and proudly served his country as an aviation technician.  The father of Adlee Seekins and Rylee Mickel, Landon was an amazing dad.  He loved his family and his friends, who were just like family, and was a very protective brother.  He enjoyed his online community friends through gaming.

Landon was very intelligent, always in a happy mood, always smiling and having an infectious way of getting people in a good mood.  He loved to read and enjoyed sitting around bonfires with his friends and family.

Survivors include his wife, Jessica, Gas City; father, Doyle Seekins; mother, Kristi (Matthew) Fugate; daughter, Adlee Seekins, Gas City; son, Rylee Mickel, Gas City; sisters, Jamie Seekins-Murphy, Lafayette, and Morgan Seekins-McClure, Roanoke, Virginia; brother, Nickolas Seekins, Jonesboro; paternal grandmother, Iola Seekins, Marion; maternal grandparents, Don (Sylvia) Berryhill, Gas City; nephews, Brenden Bradford and Kamden McClure; nieces, Keara Montoya, Sadie Sollars, Hannah Jones, and Hailey Jones; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close friends and Marines.

His paternal grandfather, Arden Seekins, preceded him in death.

The family will receive visitors from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

Services to celebrate Landon’s life will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at the funeral home.  Pastor Jeremy Lang will be officiating with burial following at Marion National Cemetery.
