Kim Eileen Penrod, 57, of Marion, IN passed away at 9:45 PM, Tuesday January 1, 2019 at Marion General Hospital while being held tight, in a room crammed full of people who love her too much. She knew she was dying and said many times that she knew where she was going and wasn’t afraid of death, though she desperately wanted more time with her loved ones on earth.
Kim was born on Monday, July 17, 1961, in Harford City, IN. She was a 1979 Graduate of Blackford High School. Kim was a single mother who worked hard as a nurse for 28 years. Not only was she a nurse by profession, but also in her soul. She lived her life to take care of others, be they family, friend, patient, prison inmate, complete stranger, or stray animal. Kim loved her grand babies, nieces, and nephews fiercely. They made her happier than a treasure ever made anyone and her favorite past-time was spoiling them. They filled her whole heart with happiness and love. Her absence will leave a deep, black void in our hearts and souls, but her life and memory have left an impact that will influence us to love and hold each other all the more. Kim was greeted in heaven by her father, a daughter and son, and many many other dear friends and family members who must have been so eager to have her in their arms again.
Those who want to honor Kim’s life should do so by taking care of someone that needs taking care of and doing something kind for someone that needs a kindness.

She was preceded in death by her father – George G. Garrison, maternal grandparents Richard & Artensie Phillips, paternal grandparents William and Goldie Garrison and her precious twins John Matthew & Jennifer Michelle Penrod.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Friday, January 04, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A service to celebrate her life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier at 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 05, 2019 with Pastor Paul Burris officiating. Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F Cemetery in Montpelier.
