John A. Sutton Sr., 89, of rural Hartford City, IN, (Roll) passed away at 11:29 AM on Tuesday, January 01, 2019 at his residence. He was born on Tuesday, January 29, 1929, in LaFountaine, IN. He married Betty C. (Bonewit) Sutton on Thursday, July 25, 1946 in Monticello, IN. She passed away on February 26, 2015. John was a 1948 graduate of Roll High School. He retired in 1986 from General Motors, Marion, IN. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, gardening, and especially loved being around his family. John left a legacy of being a loving husband, father, and grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather.
John will be sadly missed by his Daughter – Sandra (Husband, Larry) Garrison, Grand Blanc, MI, Daughter – Patricia (Husband, Mike) Kellogg, Hartford City, IN, Son- John A Sutton Jr, Son – Rick W. (Wife, Mary) Sutton, Angola, IN, Daughter – Georgetta (Husband, Jim) Lee, Hartford City, IN Sister – Judy (Husband, Phillip) Cox, Gas City, IN, 12 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his Wife – Betty C. (Bonewit) Sutton, Father – Hobart Jacob Sutton, Mother – Elsie (Stoner) Sutton, Sister – Marcella Campbell, Sister- Janet Riddle, Sister- Vonna Jean Walker, Brother- James Sutton, Brother-Hobart Sutton, Sister – Ardith Tarr, and Brother – Joe Sutton.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home on Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, January 7, 2019 from 10:00 Am to 11:00 AM.
A service to celebrate his life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 7, 2019 with Pastor Glenn Greiner officiating. Interment will follow in the Gardens of Memory in Muncie.
