Kids to Parks Day at Salamonie Lake, May 18

ANDREWS, IN- Spend a day filled with kid-themed activities at Salamonie Lake’s interpretive center (IC), located in Lost Bridge West SRA, May 18.

Events schedule:

– 10 a.m. – Kids scavenger hunt on the Turkey Cove Trail. Meet at IC to pick up supplies and instructions.

– 11 a.m. – Critter Talk and lunch at IC shelter. Bring your lunch and enjoy songs, games, and a live animal presentation. 

– 1 – 3 p.m. – Crafts at the IC. Make an owl, eagle, or kestrel to take home.

–   3 – 4 p.m. – Volunteer in the Nature Play Area, near the IC Butterfly Garden, to help prepare for future upgrades. Bring closed-toe shoes, gloves.

Additional information:

–   Dress for the weather, much of the time will be spent outside. 

–   Those under age 10 must have an adult present.

–   Sponsored by Friends of Upper Wabash Interpretive Services.

–   No program fee; program donations accepted.

–   Property entrance fees apply: $7 per in-state vehicle; $9 per out-of-state vehicle.
