Kent McNutt

Kent McNutt, 58, Gas City, passed away at 1:09 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2018 in his home.  He was born in Marion on June 2, 1960, to the late Watheta McNutt.

Kent was an employee of Caravan Facilities Management.  He previously was the owner of Twin City Laundromat, as well as the owner of Moknutt’s Fireworks in Gas City.  He was a member of Deer Creek Conservation Club and loved hunting and fishing.  He also enjoyed coin collecting and fireworks.  Kent was very thoughtful and faithfully sent out birthday cards to many friends and family.  He was also known for making and giving wonderful Christmas cookies to all his friends and family.

He is survived by his aunt, Alberta Wamsley, Warsaw; cousins, Kelly (Kimmi Jo) Timmons, Warsaw, Shelly Whitaker, Warsaw, Ed Timmons, Warsaw, Chris McNutt, Fairmount, Lori Ann (Tony) Ehmer, Marion, and Teri Sue Mihelich, Marion; and best friends, John (Cindy) Atkinson, Marion, Brian (Missy) Whitehead, Upland, and Reva Smith, Gas City, as well as many other good friends.

Preceding him in death were his mother, Watheta, and grandmother, Edith McNutt.

A memorial service for Kent will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

Immediately following the visitation, a memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating.  Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Gas City Fire Department for the annual fireworks display.
