Kaylin Dawn McGhee

Kaylin Dawn McGhee, 8 years of age, of Marion, passed away at 2:57 pm on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. She had suffered from complications due to a house fire which took her family home. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Sunday, August 25, 2013, the cherished daughter of Lindsey McGhee and Walter “Wally” Duncan. 

Kaylin was just getting ready to start 3rd grade at Allen Elementary School. She adored going to school, especially going to The Training Center after classes. Kaylin loved her teachers and classmates. She enjoyed watching YouTube videos, playing with her cat, playing with her toys, and being outside. Kaylin had a very big, caring, and loving heart and always wanted to lift the spirits of others, especially with a hug. She was fearless and wasn’t afraid to try new things. She was very bright for her age. Although Kaylin left this world too soon, she left an imprint on many and will be missed dearly. 

Survivors include her parents, Walter “Wally” Duncan and Lindsey McGhee of Marion; brothers, Jesse McGhee and Damon Sperry; sisters, Dream Duncan, Daisy Duncan, and Dacia Duncan; grandfathers, Mike Duncan, Greg McGhee, and Kent Nelson; grandmothers, Deborah Hart and Denise Nelson; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; special uncles, Shane McGhee, Jerry (Aunt Tootie) Vest, Charles Duncan, Corey (Aunt Dawn) Hart, and Bobby Hart; special aunts, Rachael Duncan and Lorie (Brandon Longworth) Culley; many friends at school; and her beloved cat, Aires. 

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Malinda Yount. 

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. 

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Kaylin’s life will begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
