Kathy Sue Ulery

Kathy Sue Ulery, 65, Fowlerton, went to be with the Lord in her home at 6:27 p.m. on Sunday, August 12, 2018.  She was born in Danville to the late Harry and Talpha Mae Gellenbeck.

Kathy graduated from Avon High School and attended Ivy Tech and Ball State.  She was a nurse at Marion Heart Center and was also a cook at Hostess House in Marion.  On August 27, 2005, Kathy married Marvin L. Ulery, and he survives.

Kathy enjoyed fishing and had her lifetime fishing license.  She loved going fishing at Dewart Lake in Syracuse with her husband and church family from Maple Run Friends, where she was a member.  She liked to paint still life and was involved in the Grant County Arts Society.  She enjoyed crocheting and gardening.  Kathy will be remembered as a strong woman of faith who loved her Lord and Savior.  She will be missed by all who were blessed to have known her.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin; son, Jeff (Laura Windsor, O.D.) Whetzel, Hartford City; grandchildren, Taylor and Ella Whetzel; brother, Ronald Gellenbeck, Florida; several nieces, nephews, and friends; and good friends, Rachel, Bonnie, and Kay.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Lauren Victoria “Tori” Whetzel.

Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, August 17, 2018, at Integrity Funeral Care, 2901 S. Washington St., Marion, IN.

After the time of visitation, Kathy’s celebration service will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor John Key officiating.  Burial will follow at Marion National Cemetery.
