Katherine “Kathy” Jane Stambaugh, 66, of Marion, Indiana, passed away on July 4, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer. She was born on July 15, 1956, to Martha and Joseph Stambaugh, Sr., in Peru, Indiana. After graduating from Marion High School in 1974, Kathy went on to work at St. Regis and SCM Paper Packing Companies. Kathy loved spending time with family and two of her best friends, Melanie Shugart and Susan Jones. She loved fireworks on the 4th of July, shopping, herbs and gardening, and helping anyone she could.
Kathy was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Stambaugh (Crist); fiancée, Guy “Bub” Tarlton; and partners, Donnie Ray Williams and Robert Bodkins. She is survived by her father, Joseph (Martha) Stambaugh, Sr.; son, Jason (Charrie) Stambaugh; grandchildren, Kellen, Andrew and Raven Stambaugh (and their mother, Crissy), and Jaiden, Julian and Jace Buskirk; brothers, Joseph (Emma Lou) Stambaugh, Jr., Robert “Fred” Stambaugh, and Daniel (Carla) Stambaugh; and sister, Connie (Gene) York.
The family will receive visitors from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Kathy’s life will begin at 2:30 pm.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Moose Lodge, 817 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
