Karen S. Cook

Karen S. Cook, 67, of Marion, passed away in her sleep at 12:10 pm on Sunday, March 6, 2022, in her home. She was born in Muncie on December 7, 1954, to Richard and Sandra (Morrow) Robertson. On October 8, 1972, she married Jay W. Cook, who survives.

Karen was a dedicated homemaker and had worked at McDonald’s in California. She had donated to the Feed the Children program and Operation Smiles over the years. Karen enjoyed gardening and traveling by car with her husband throughout the United States. She especially liked visiting the national parks and museums.

In addition to her loving husband, Jay, survivors include her daughters, Dawn M. Cook of Dunkirk and Heather Jo (Matthew) Dennison of Ocala, FL; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Brenda Hushaw and Christina Robertson; brother, Ronnie (Teresa) Robertson; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her father, Richard L. Robertson; mother, Sandra S. Rocha; daughter, Tamara Brannon; and brother, Rick Robertson.

The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Monday, March 14, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a funeral service to celebrate Karen’s life will begin at 12:00 noon with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will take place at Marion National Cemetery.
