Joel Arthur Camery

Surrounded by his family, Joel Arthur Camery, age 75, went to be with the Lord in the early hours of January 1, 2019.  Joel’s life was one that was clearly marked by God’s grace and love for his church.

Joel was born in Dayton, OH, on August 21, 1943, to Jack and Reva Camery.  At the age of 22, he met his beloved wife, Kay, and they married soon afterward in 1966.  Together, they had two sons:  Jason and Christian.  Joel was a car enthusiast and spent most of his life as a car salesman.  Working in the car industry for over 40 years allowed Joel to do what he loved most—working and getting to know people. He was a lifelong learner and enjoyed keeping up with the latest technology in cars as well as current events.  Joel was an active member of Marion Reformed Presbyterian Church, where he served as a greeter each Sunday and loved welcoming all, especially the young children, to church.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Beverly Kay Camery, Marion; his two sons, Jason Anthony (Jennifer) Camery, Marion, and Christian Camery, Clearwater, FL; and his three grandchildren, Megan, Sidney, and Luke.

Joel was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Reva Camery, and his brother, Jack Brandon Camery, in 2013.

Family and friends may call from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, Joel’s funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. with burial following at Grant Memorial Park.
