Janet R. Davis East Powell, 86, Peru, passed away Oct 17th, 2023 surrounded by her family, loved ones and friends.
She was born November 3, 1936 in Sylvan Grove Kansas to Ralph and Clara Davis. She married Hubert “Bud” East in 1953, they had 3 daughters, Kathy Shank (Barry Hall), Connie (Roscoe)Mofield and Linda (Keith)Robinson. She later married Fred Powell in 1980.
Janet worked in the school systems at Maconaquah High school, then Paul Richard Chevrolet and Permanent Solution. In her later years the school system in Seattle Washington.
Survivors include her Daughters Connie Mofield, Peru & Linda (Keith) Robinson, Roanoke, a sister Sharon Cutting, Canton TX and a brother Jerry (Patricia) Davis, Denver CO,
Grandchildren Justin Cory (Nicola) Shank, Kara Shank of Peru, Brian (Ellana) Robinson and Brent (Kelly) Robinson of Ft Wayne.
Great Grandchildren Include Ashlynn (Isabella)O’Donley, Alex Zimdahl, Sommer (Scott) Webb, Dakota Howell, Madeline Robinson, Blair Robinson and Graham Robinson.
Great great grandchildren include Wesley O’Donley, Caroline Howell, Michael Webb and Zoey Webb.
She is also survived and loved by lots of nieces and nephews.
Janet was proceeded in death by her parents, daughter Kathy Shank, sister Reva Warne, brother Ronald Davis, son in law Roscoe Mofield, husbands Hubert “Bud” East and Fred Powell.
Visitation will be from 4pm to 7pm on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street in Peru, Indiana. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 10am with Pastor Rod Correll officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Peru.
