Janet C. Dale, 74, of rural Wabash, Indiana, died at 1:55 pm, Tuesday, December 5, 2023, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on September 17, 1949, in Wabash, to Chester R. and Wilma C. (Nelson) Ogan.
Janet was a 1967 graduate of Southwood High School. She married Ken L. Dale at the Christ United Methodist Church, in Wabash, on August 23, 1975. Janet was a homemaker and bookkeeper for the family farm. She also worked as the receptionist at Plummer, Tiede, Magley, Metz and Downs for several years. Janet attended the Wabash Friends Church. She was a collector and enjoyed traveling with friends. Janet loved being the life of the party with friends and family and especially adored her grandkids.
She is survived by her husband, Ken Dale of Wabash; two daughters, Kimberly (Jay) Custer of Lagro, Indiana and Kristen (Dustin) Arnheim of Western Springs, Illinois; five grandchildren, Autumn K. Custer and Avery J. Custer, both of Lagro, Dylan B. Arnheim, Cooper L. Arnheim, and Claire E. Arnheim, all of Western Springs; and two brothers, Sherman Ogan of San Marcos, California, and Keith (Susan Sailors) Ogan of Wabash. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Julia Ann Keaffaber.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Wabash Friends Church, 3563 S. State Road 13, Wabash, with David Phillips officiating. Entombment will be in Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 4-8 pm Friday, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, and from 10-11 am Saturday at the church.
