James William “Bill” Lewis

James William “Bill” Lewis 87 of Marion, Indiana peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior with his family at his side on Thursday July 5, 2018 at Wesleyan Health Care Center, Marion, Indiana

Bill was an accomplish artist who loved family and people, enjoyed laughing and theatrical plays and dramas.  He enjoyed music and going fishing at Hill Lake Resort, Claypool, Indiana where he and Roma had maintained a cottage for over 50 years. He was a member First Church of God, Marion and help build the current church building.  Bill retired in 1990 after 37 years with Dana Corporation, Marion, Indiana

Bill was born April 27, 1931 at Marion, Indiana to Vern James and Garnet (Drake) Lewis and graduated from Marion High School Class of 1950.  On June 29, 1952 he married Roma N. Baird at the First Church of God on Boots Street in Marion and they celebrated 66 years of marriage just a few days ago.

Bill is survived by his wife Roma, daughter Tina Lewis, Marion, IN  Sons: Kevin James (Laura) Lewis, Redlands, California ans Stephen M. Lewis, Claypool, IN.  Sisters; Shirley Lostutter, Marion, IN  Patricia Stanley, Anderson, IN and Brother; Paul (Anita) Lewis, Marion, IN.

Grandchildren; Nathan Lewis, Redlands, California, Blake (Kay Hamlet) Lewis, Walla Walla, Washington, Tory (Kalon) Sherarer, Winona Lake, IN   Mikila (Dan) Brown, Ft. Wayne, IN   Great Grandchildren; Bailey Brown, Nolan Cook, Zoey Sherarer, Brookely Sherarer, Rylan James Sherarer and Raely May Sherarer.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Brothers-in-law; Robert Stanley and Fred Lostutter and Sisters-in-law Helen (Herbert) Smith, and Maxine (Robert) Eastes.

A celebration of life service for Bill will be 1:00 PM Tuesday July 10, 2018 at the First Church of God 450 W. 50th St., Marion, IN with Pastors Jonathon Secrest and Bill Fulda officiating interment will immediately follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County, Indiana.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 Tuesday at the church.
