James Ray Rose, 65, of Lagro, Indiana, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2023, at his daughter’s home. He was born on December 6, 1957, in Wabash, Indiana, to Ballard and Cathryn (Smith) Rose.
James married Rosalie Watson in 1989; she passed away in 1996. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars, and hanging out in his garage spending time with his grandkids.
He is survived by four children, Jessica Gill, Jenny (Joshua) Halverson, and Misty Rose, all of North Manchester, Indiana, and James Rose of Wabash; 13 grandchildren, Ethan Robinette of Warsaw, Indiana, Madison Gatchel, Ashton Wright, Nevaeh Wright, Braydon Gill, Chastin Miller, Justin Halverson, Connor Halverson, Kaydence Halverson, and Amelia Halverson, all of North Manchester, Riley Rose, Abbigail Rose, and Remi Rose, all of Wabash; two great-grandchildren, Emerie Barrera and Jesus “Romeo” Barrera; and brothers and sisters, John (Mechele) Rose of Wabash, David Rose of Lagro, Indiana, Gene Rose, Cathy Rose, Anna Rose, and James Reed, all of Wabash. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and his granddaughter, Abbigail Halverson.
Funeral services will be 3:00 pm, Friday, December 8, 2023, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Pastor Luke Robberts officiating. Friends may call 2-3 pm Friday, December 8, 2023, at the funeral home.
