James R. Stover, 91, Upland, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021. He was born in Casey, Illinois, on May 23, 1930, to William and Alice (Lippencott) Stover. He married Evelyn, and she survives.
James honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. After his discharge from the military, he worked at AEP Electric for 30 years. He was a member of Auburn Cord Duesenberg Club. He loved old cars, going to car shows, yard work, and traveling to Florida. He especially loved his beloved dog, Lulu.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn W. Stover of Upland; Michael (Lucy) Conner of Jonesboro and Candy Conner of Marion; four children, Timothy Joe (Debbie) Enyeart of Marion, Lilly B. (Alan) Tipton of Swayzee, Webb D. Stephenson of Marion, and Holly S. Weaver of Longview, TX; Michaela (Jeff) Gold of LaGrange, IL, Caleb Conner of Fishers, and 13 grandchildren; and Zion Gold and 37 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Larry Conner; sister, Phyllis West; children, Steven, Mark, and Nathan; and grandchild, AJ Tipton.
The family will receive visitors from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm on Friday, November 26, 2021, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate James’ life will begin at 2:00 pm.
