James P. "Bodean" Himes

James P. “Bodean” Himes, 49, of Jonesboro, passed away at 9:45 am on Saturday, September 3, 2022, in his home. He was born in Marion on February 4, 1973, to Thomas J. and Susan G. (Bannister) Himes, Jr.

James graduated from Marion High School in 1992. He worked as a Journeyman Electrician for several years in Las Vegas, NV and was a member of IBEW #357. Bodean enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He liked going to the casino, swimming, and boating. He was always up for a good time and liked his life to be adventurous.

Survivors include his sister, Christina Sutton of Marion; nieces, Kassie (Abigail) Sutton of Marion and Katie (Spenser Gibson) Sutton of Upland; aunts, Pat (Harley) Coffey of Gas City, Roxane Himes of Jonesboro, and Vivian (Tim Savely) Himes of Jonesboro; uncle, Mike Bannister of Phoenix, AZ; best friend, Tammy McGuinn of Marion; plus several cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas J. Himes, Jr.; mother, Susan G. Himes; grandparents, Thomas & Norma Himes and Arlene Bannister; and cousin, Brian Holland.

The family will receive visitors from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Friday, September 9, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a Funeral Service to celebrate James’ life will begin at 5:00 pm with Pastor Gary Bracken officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, 1385 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN 46952. The family was very appreciative of the care and compassion shown by the employees of Heart to Heart.
